My Heart Knows Your Story
On December 26, 2018, my life changed forever.
I had a massive heart attackâand I lived to tell about it.
But what shook me the most wasnât just what happened⌠it was what I didnât know.
I didnât have the symptoms I had always been told to watch for.
No one had prepared me for what a heart attack could actually look like for a woman like me.
The Journey That Changed Everything
I spent four days in the hospital.
Four stents were placed in my arteries.
I went home wearing a life vestâand spent the next five months in cardiac rehabilitation, rebuilding my heart and my life one day at a time.
And somewhere in that process, something became very clear:
Women are not getting the information they need.
The signs are different.
The risks are different.
And too often, we put everyone else firstâuntil our hearts demand that we stop.
What My Heart Attack Really Felt Like
I didnât experience the âtypicalâ symptoms people talk about.
This is what I felt:
⢠Shortness of breath â a struggle to breathe that didnât make sense
⢠A feeling of fullness â not related to eating
⢠A tight left shoulder â like a muscle knot, not a warning sign
⢠Tingling in the middle of my back â something I had never felt before
None of it felt like a heart attack.
And thatâs exactly why Iâm sharing it.
If something feels off in your body, trust yourselfâand seek help immediately.

That experience is why I created Her Heart Matters.
